Duration: Five days in the mountain


Dates 2019: january: 13-19; february: 03-09, 17-23; march: 10-16, 17-23, 26 -30; april: march 31 – april 06, 07-13, 14-20.


Minimum level required: Level 4 in ski ability levelsFitness level 2


Groups: 4 persons


Cost: $ USD 900 per person – Euro 750 per person


The cost include: services of an Mountain Guide, all transfers as shown in the program, the cablecars tickets as shown in the program, half board in the hut, packlunch in the mountain .


The cost not include: Accomodation, transfer from/to airport, airfare and anything not specified.

The Program

Arrival – Sun

Travel to Courmayeur, to arrive in time for the Evening Briefing. Your guide will run through safety routines and kit checks, as well as hand out rental equipment for the week, before we go on to a detailed discussion of everyones ambitions for the week, together with the current weather and mountain conditions and how these affect our planning. We’ll also have maps and guidebooks to show you, so if you’ve any further questions or last minute requests, then this is the ideal time to bring them up before we head on to dinner. Day 1 – Mon

Introduction to the week ahead and kit check. Brief revision of ski mountaineering skills and complete some ‘micro-ski-tours’ out of one of the Courmayeur resort e.g. various interesting skinning journeys from Courmayeur ski area. Opportunities to refresh skinning technique, avalanche emergency procedures and some basic mountaineering elements. Overnight in the valley.

Day 2 – Tue

A full day tour with the aim of skiiing a substantial peak Combe Varin (2613 mt) in La Thuile Area. Overnight in the valley.

Day 3 – Wed

We make a three hour ascent using skins through the ‘Combe de Mort’ which leads us to the Hospice. An ascent of Mont Fourchon (2902 mt), the classic ski-touring peak of the area giving breath-taking views of Mont Blanc and the Grand Combin. Overnight in the hut.

Day 4 – Thu

The Combe de La Chaux, a classic trip over 2 cols and 1 summit Monts Telliers (2951 mt) culminating in a 8km descent. The route has a wild remote feel and is exceptionally scenic as it traverses a terrace overlooking the east side of the Mont Blanc massif, giving views of the Grand Jorasses, Mont Dolent and Mont Blanc, which are very impressive from this unusual angle. Overnight in the valley.

Day 5 – Fri

A high glacial tour and finish the week with a full mountain ski journey e.g From Chamonix – Argentière the classic “3 Cols” route linking the Grandes Montets with Le Tour or Le Tour via the Col du Passon. Overnight in the valley. End of program.

Departure – Sat

After a night of well-deserved rest, departing from Courmayeur for your destination.
