Day 0 - Sun
Arrival

Travel to Courmayeur, to arrive in time for the Evening Briefing.

Your guide will run through safety routines and kit checks, as well as hand out rental equipment for the week, before we go on to a detailed discussion of everyones ambitions for the week, together with the current weather and mountain conditions and how these affect our planning. We’ll also have maps and guidebooks to show you, so if you’ve any further questions or last minute requests, then this is the ideal time to bring them up before we head on to dinner.

Day 1 - Mon

9.00am – 4.00pm: Introduction to Off-Piste Skiing looking at the fundamental skills needed for being effective in the off-piste.

Feedback will be specific to the individual so that you have personal top tips to take forward into the week. An ideal warm up day is to visit the off-piste resort of La Thuile-La Rosière. Here there are big open slopes, trees, the famous back bowls and couloirs of varying angles. As well as enjoying the great skiing, time will be spent training with avalanche transceivers.
During the day we’ll pause for the odd coffee break and at lunchtime.

Day 2 - Tue

9.00am – 4.00pm: Grands Montet - Argentière Ski Resorts (France).

The World Famous ‘Grands Montets’ ski area is a beast of an off-piste resort! Get your ski legs ready because the vertical intervals are huge and the opportunities to explore interesting challenging terrain are massive. We will aim to ski from the top station (3300m) and take some runs on to the Argentiere Glacier, Italian and Canadian Bowls.
During the day we’ll pause for the odd coffee break and at lunchtime.

Day 3 - Wed

9.00am – 4.00pm: Chamonix. Brévent - Flegére Ski Resorts (France).

Today’s aim is to ski lots of powder and, in the absence of that just lots of good terrain. This is an opportunity to explore the excellent linked ski areas of Chamonix like Brevent-Flegére in front of the Mont Blanc range.
During the day we’ll pause for the odd coffee break and at lunchtime.

Day 4 - Thu

9.00am – 4.00pm: Courmayeur Monte Bianco Ski Resorts (Italy).

After the obligatory cappuccino we hit the slopes of one of the brilliant resorts of the Valle d’Aoste like Courmayeur. Here there is excellent tree skiing (great if it is dumping with snow!) as well as impressive high alpine terrain. We could ski the famous Off-Piste in Courmayeur ski area.
During the day we’ll pause for the odd coffee break and at lunchtime.

Day 5 - Fri

9.00am – 4.00pm: The Vallée Blanche Off-Piste from Punta Helbronner 3462m.

Into the Vallee Blanche. There are many variations on the most famous off- piste run in the world . A roped skinning journey through a crevassed glacier, accessing a high col on the French / Italian border or tackling one of the numerous steeper variations like the Grand Envers or Combe de la Vierge. Whichever one is taken the 22km of glacier skiing through an incredible and beautiful maz e of crevasses with views of the classic big North Faces of the Alps provides a fitting climax to our week of off- piste skiing.
In Vallée Blanche day you’ll need a small packed lunch, as we won't be in Chamonix before 3.00pm

End of Program

Day 6 - Sat

Return home.

After a night of well-deserved rest, departure from Courmayeur for your destination.
